110 Livingston Gets 98% Walkability Seal of Approval

Filed under: 110 Livingston, Downtown Brooklyn — admin @ 7:25 am

walk Thanks to our neighbors at 53 Boerum for tipping us off to the cool Walk Score site — it rates neighborhoods for “walkability” by calculating an address’ proximity to essentials like groceries, parks, bookstores, and so forth. 110 scores 98%, at the high end of the “Walker’s Paradise” range, between 90 and 100. Our only question is why we’re not at 100, what with our on-site museum.

Some benefits of walkable neighborhoods, according to the site: fewer greenhouse gases, healthier lifestyle, support for local businesses, and stronger social fabric. Sounds good to us. Plus shorter trip to pick up milk. Check out the link below and watch the site tally all the local amenities.

  2. What a bogus analysis. I plugged my old address into the app’ and it told me (among other things) that it was just 0.003 miles from Los Hermanos Grocery — am I supposed to be happy with that fine shopping option? — and only nine-tenths of a mile from East River Park, just a quick stroll over the Williamsburg Bridge. Lots of data; no analysis. Which is not to say 110 Livingston does not have a convenient location….
