Top Hats & Whalebone Corsets at Gage & Tollner
The City section this weekend had a piece on one of our pet topics: what might move in to the Gage & Tollner space on Fulton Street. Our favorite quote:
With the marble slab bar and gaslight fixtures, it took only a slight reach of the imagination to picture the space full of men in top hats and women in whalebone corsets…“It was one of those places with career waiters who would pull out the chair for you and say, ‘Young lady, you’re so beautiful.’ ”
Another tidbit: one realtor is in talks with a Manhattan-based French bistro who is interested in the space. Sounds like a nice option. Thanks also to the Times for the mention of this site!
