From Courthouse to High School
An alert reader tipped us off to this one–the former courthouse at 283 Adams is being demolished inside to make way for two high schools.
The original building, which makes the House of D look like a country club, will be spruced up and house two high schools: the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice and the Urban Assembly School of Math and Science for Young Women. One cool feature, in the law school they will build a mock courtroom, complete with judge’s podium, jury box, and (we wish) Sam Waterston as a guest teacher.
